When these people use scientific language to back up their bad arguments about contraception or abortion or gay marriage, they are lying to themselves and to you. They don’t care about science. They haven’t used any scientific information to arrive at their conclusions. All they have is religious opinions and feelings. Religious opinions are fine, but I’d prefer not to have them turned into secular laws.
